Its been a burning question for many travel businesses since October 2008 - will the UK public be taking their holidays as normal in 2009 or will this grey cloud of financial depression hit our yearly trip to sunnier shores?

Pilot Sacked for 'Top Gun Style' Fly-By
Captain Ian Wilkinson, a seniour captain at Cathay Pacific astounded passengers as well as onlookers by swooping a Boeing 777 to within 8.5 metres from the ground at almost 350mph!
It was the maiden flight for the brand new addition to the Cathay Pacific fleet from Boeings factory in Washington, cheered on by onlookers. Passengers on the £100 million plane even included Chris Pratt, the chairman of Cathay Pacific.
Buit when footage of the fly by leaked on the internet, the champagne celebrations turned murky and Captain Wilkinson was sacked from his £250,000 a year job. A spokesman said: “The pilot in command of the flight was dismissed as he had neither sought nor obtained the necessary company approval to undertake such a fly-by.”
We feel a bit sorry for Captain Wilkinson as we thinks its pretty cool...but none the less he's now got the boot so we thought we'd show you the clip!
REMEMBER: Although this is just four seconds, it is almost 350mph and 8.5m from the ground!!!

Staff Go-Karting Day
Gentlemen start your engines......ladies too!On Sunday 19th November, some of the BeatTheBrochure sales team and management spent an evening go karting.
Days before hand the banter and heckling started on the sales floor, with audacious claims like "I'm related to Lewis Hamilton .." and "I've never go-karted before in my life..."(of course you haven't JP) and so on, with varied side bets also being put into the mix. But this meant absolutely nothing on the day. Petrol, grease and burning rubber was on the menu and it was clear that some had bitten off more than they could chew!
The first few races were exciting and involved several drivers being black flagged, which became the norm for the rest of the day, eventually resulting in several of our drivers being given life term bans from the track.
8 gruelling races and a final later, the titles were taken as follows:
1st - David 'Disqualified' Ox (car no.3) - Worldwide Consulatant
2nd - Daniel 'The Face' Ox (car no.1) - Web Reservations Team
3rd - Jean 'Button' Paul (car no.2) - Web Resrevation Team
A clear agreement was made that Davids' extra 0.5 seconds per lap advantage on everyone else was due to his 9.5 stone body weight, bringing a clear advantage over everyone else. But then again, maybe none of us like to lose.

Sex ban on the new A380
With the introduction of the new A380 craft, airlines have made it clear to all double bed suite passengers that there is definately no sex allowed on board!
Singapore Airlines were the first to take on the new craft and Stephen Forshaw, the companies spokesman said “If couples used our double beds to engage in inappropriate activity, we would politely ask them to desist”
